Walter W. Cawiezell, 95, of Plainfield, passed away October 29, 2008 in Arizona. He was born December 9, 1912 to the late Edward and Maude Cawiezell in Stockton, IA. He was a US Army Air Corps veteran of WWII. Before entering the Army he owned his own trucking service for 10 years in West Liberty, IA. After his discharge from the service in 1945 he worked 7 years at Wayne Park Garage in Indianapolis. He opened his own business as Walt's Garage in Plainfield in 1952 and worked there for 43 years before retiring in 1995. He married Rose T. Grady in 1972 who still survives. Both Walter and Rose enjoyed living in Green Valley, AZ in the winter for the past 20 years.Walter was a member of St. Susanna Catholic Church and a lifelong member of the Plainfield Optimist. Besides his wife Rose, he is also survived by two step-daughters, Judith Hawley and Beverly Knight; three step-sons, Michael L. Park, Samuel M. and Richard Allen Smith; a sister, Vera Cawiezell of West Liberty, IA; 15 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Zelda Cawiezell who passed away in 1966. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday November 3, 2008 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call from 2:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday November 2. Burial, with military honors will be at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
