Joan Patricia Shannon

Joan Patricia Shannon, 93, of Plainfield, passed away November 19, 2014. She was born November 15, 1921 in Belfast, Northern Ireland to the late Rupert and Alexandra Harding. She served with the British Navy Wrens during WW II. Joan worked for Stokley Vancamp, Phillips Petroleum and retired in 1985 from Quaker Oates in the payroll department. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Shannon and sister, Elizabeth Harding. Joan was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, (4702 South East St, Indianapolis) where funeral services will be Saturday, November 22, at 1:00 pm. Friends may call from 11:00 am until service time. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery. Survivors include her children, Patty Shannon and Ray (Sherry) Shannon; brother, Raymond Harding; sister, Ruth Yarber; 2 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 2 nieces.
