Donald Aaron Foss, 39, of Plainfield, IN, passed peacefully from this life and into God’s loving arms Friday, October 3, at home after a valiant battle against cancer. He was born October 9, 1968, in Belleville, IL, and grew up in Salem, IL, where he graduated from Salem High School in 1987 and met the love of his life, Susan Hill. He attended Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana, graduating in 1989, with an associate of science degree in broadcasting.
In 1989, he and Susan married in Mount Vernon, Illinois, and made their home in Columbus, Indiana, before moving to Indianapolis in 1993. For two decades, Don worked in the broadcasting industry. For the past seven years, Don made his work home as an editor and videographer with Channel WRTV6 in Indianapolis. In 2006, he won a Lower Great Lakes Emmy award for excellence in lighting a newscast.
Don was a member of Celebration Puppeteers with Old Bethel United Methodist Church of Indianapolis, and a former board member of the Autism Advocates of Indiana, LLC. Visitation will be held from 2 until 6 p.m. Sunday at the Hampton Gentry Funeral Home, 106 Shaw Street, Plainfield, Indiana. Funeral services for Donald Aaron Foss will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 6, at Plainfield Christian Church, with burial at Maple Cemetery in Plainfield, Indiana.
Donald Aaron Foss is survived by his wife Susan, his daughter Megan, and his son Zachary of Plainfield; his parents Don and Norma (Price) Foss of Salem, IL; his brother Darrell (Flora) Foss of DeKalb, IL, and his sister Jan (Randy) Vogt of Salem, IL; father and mother-in-law, John and Gloria Hill; sisters-in-law, Sara Foss, and Melissa (Chad) Geiser; brother-in-law, John W. Hill. Six nieces and nephews, and several great nieces and nephews also survive. He was preceded in death by his brother Josephus (Sara) Foss, and his grandparents.
