Kenneth Lee Tolen, 76, of Ocala, FL, formerly of Indianapolis passed away August 25, 2014. He was born May 29, 1938 to the late Frank and Mary (Himebrook) Tolen in Linton, IN. He was a 1956 graduate of Decatur Central High School. He was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Ocala. He owned and operated Tolen's Florist in Speedway from 1981-2006. Ken is survived by his loving wife, Linda J. (Woodson) Tolen; children, Debra Govert, Keith (Vickie) Tolen, Julie (Jack) Linnerud, and Wendy Tolen; sisters, Betty (Geoff) Bradley, and Virginia (Stephen) Griffith; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren (with another on the way), and 7 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son Brian Keith Davis and a granddaughter, Taylor Lynn Tolen. Ken loved to fish to the extent he would tournament fish as often as he could. He could also play a mean round of golf in his day. His creativity was overwhelming. He could vision and make almost anything. His creativity lead him to start up a Flower Shop becoming a well respected, successful business. In his younger years he loved the excitement of racing whether it be in the car, part of a mechanic team at the Indy 500 or even slot cars--of course building his own slot cars. But mostly Ken loved helping people. When he retired to Florida he filled many of his "idle" hours helping people. It was known that Ken was the go to guy for most repairs, borrowing tools, questions of how things worked and in general helping the old folks out. Ken loved his retirement years, as short as they were. He had lots of fun, laughs, weekend trips, finding really good restaurants (if anyone wanted to know where to get a good meal in Florida, they would turn to Ken). He was on the internet, had a Kindle, an iPad and usually what ever new gadget that was out (except a Smart Phone). He also had the time to devote to his love of photography. Ken would create greeting cards for his wife regularly with specialized software. Kenneth was a kind, honest, fun loving, and caring man. He was devoted to his wife, and she was devoted to him.
