Will Gipson, 79, of Alva, FL, formerly of Plainfield, passed away July 28, 2014. He was born August 17, 1934 in Danville, IN to the late Wilson and Evelyn (Basham) Gipson. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Will was a police officer in Shelbyville, KY and Clearwater FL. Later, he retired as a salesman with Anheuser Busch. Funeral services will be Monday, August 4, at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:00 am until service time. Burial with full military honors will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Missy Gipson, and a brother, Floyd Joseph "Hoot" Gipson. Survivors include his loving wife of 17 years, Tammy Pirtle Gipson; sons, Allan (Cindy) Wilson of Beaver Dam, KY and Luke Gipson of Louisville, KY; daughter, Scarlet (David) Garrily of Louisville, KY; granddaughter, Cristina Gipson-Williams of Longmont, CO; brothers, Harlan Gipson of Plainfield, IN and Bailey (Betty) Gipson of New Palestine, IN; sister, Betty Ohern of Linton, IN.
