Glenna Lillian Gibbs

Glenna Lillian Reid Gibbs, 90, of Indianapolis, passed away July 14, 2014. She was born to William Bradley & Zelda Ann Banks Reid of Indianapolis, IN on June 12, 1924. A life-long resident of Indiana, Glenna spent her childhood attending PS91 & Broad Ripple High School. After high school, she attended Indianapolis Business College. She married Irvin Lee Gibbs on November 21, 1942, who preceded her in death in 1995. Glenna was employed for many years at Hoosier Photo and was known to many as "Gigi." Following her years at Hoosier Photo she was also employed at Rutland Chevrolet, National Plumbing Supply and Johnson Controls. In 1976, she retired along with her husband and moved to Danville, IN. In 2010, she returned to Indianapolis to live with her son. A dedicated Christian, she expressed her faith daily. Glenna was well-known for her gardening skills and mean canasta strategy, but will also be remembered as a supportive and caring wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her children; Spencer Lee (Cindy) Gibbs, Jamie Gibbs (Paco Argiz) and Mary Ann (John) Storm, six grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. The family wishes to express our deepest thanks and praise for Hooverwood Nursing Home and St. Vincent's Hospice for the wonderful and thoughtful care our dear Glenna received. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm followed by a service at 2:00 pm in Hampton Gentry Funeral Home on Saturday, July 19, 2014. Internment will be at Spring Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation at www.debra.org. Online condolences may be expressed at www.hamptongentry.com
