Carroll R. Rance, 81, of Plainfield, passed away June 19, 2014. He was born December 5, 1932 to the late Robert and Lillian (Strong) Rance in Indianapolis, IN. He was a 1951 graduate of Washington High School. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War, and a member of the Mooresville American Legion. He worked for Allisons GM as a repairman and inspector for 37 years retiring in 1988. Carroll is survived by his wife, June (McNelly) Rance; three sons, Robert R. (Sherrie), Gary W. (Paula), and Scott A. (Kimberly) Rance; a daughter, Teresa K. Rikeman; a sister, Janice K. (Phil) Routh; 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was a member of the Plainfield Bible Church (752 Dan Jones Road) where funeral services will be held at 12 noon on Tuesday, June 24, 2014. Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, June 23 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, and on Tuesday from 10:00 am until service time at the church. A private burial with military honors will be at Maple Lawn Cemetery, Thorntown.
