Marthalie E. Slorp

Marthalie E. (Manuel) Slorp, 97, of Plainfield, IN. passed away August 12, 2008. She was born November 18, 1910 in Palestine, OH. to the late Walter and Margaret Manuel. She was a co-owner of Slorp's Pharmacy with her husband in Indianapolis for 20 years, retiring in 1965. She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Robert R. Slorp and 5 sisters and 3 brothers. She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Plainfield, 1012 Stafford Rd, Plainfield, IN, 46168 where a funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15 at 11:00 am, with calling from 10:00 am until the time of service. Reverend John Parsley will be officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. A luncheon will follow immediately after the service at the church, where in lieu of flowers contributions may be made. Survivors include 2 daughters, Kay (Robert) Jacobson of New Bern, NC. and Janet (Norman) Perry of Clayton, IN; sister, Eva Lou Bigelow of Allen Park, MI.; brothers, Harold Slorp of Hayden Lake, ID. and "Pete" Slorp of Morgan Hill, CA; brother-in-law, Glenn Winterrowd of Greenville, OH; sister-in-law, Mary Manuel of Palestine, OH; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
