Leroy J. Ambler

Leroy J. Ambler, 87, of Plainfield, passed away May 16, 2014. He was born January 16, 1927 in Indianapolis to the late Luther and Jennie Ambler. He was a WWII and Korean War Navy veteran. Leroy retired in 1991 as a butcher for Schwab's IGA in Mooresville. He was a member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Plainfield, where a funeral service will be Tuesday, May 20, at 7:00 pm. Friends may call at the church from 5:00 pm until service time. Survivors include his wife, Roberta Ambler; son, Roy (Jeanie) Ambler; daughters, Roberta Lee (Dave) Anderson and Sandra C. (Kent) Smith; sisters, Bertha Pfisterer, Margie Evans, Mary Pleak and Ida Stohr; 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Arrangements by Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home.
