Carl R. Reed

Carl R. Reed, 72, of Plainfield, passed away May 3, 2014.  He was born January 9, 1942 to the late Dayton and Stella (Olson) Reed in Morgantown, IN.  He was a US Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.  He worked as an inspector and in maintenance while in the service and after his discharge he continued his trade with Eastern Air Lines and later with ATA.  He was a member of the NRA and the American Legion.  He enjoyed the outdoors including gardening and hunting.  He also loved to play pranks on family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean E. (Miller) Reed.  Carl is survived by two sons, Dean D. (Caitlyn), and Scott R. Reed; a daughter, Jennifer C. (Brian) Henson; a brother, Lee Fox; and three grandchildren, Rhett Reed, and Kendall and Grant Henson.  Memorial services will be at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 10, 2014 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Saturday from 2:00 pm until service time at 4:00 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made the the Disabled American Veterans Association.
