Lois Virginia Carr, 83, of Plainfield, passed away quietly surrounded by family on May 2, 2014. She was born August 22, 1930 to the late Charles and Zelma (Walker) Petticrew in Champaign, IL. She was preceded in death by a sister Ruth Kujawa. She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Wallace (Wally) Carr; three sons, David (Laura), Gary, and Jeff (Lynn) Carr; two daughters, Vicki (Randy) Muncy, and Amy (Mike) Smith; and 12 grandchildren. Lois loved to sew, quilt, read and was very accomplished at anything she tried. She was a loving wife, mother, homemaker and loyal friend to all who knew her. She was a charter member of St. Susanna Catholic Church (1210 E. Main St., Plainfield) where a Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, May 10, 2014. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, May 9 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield. A rosary service will be held at 7:45 pm on Friday. Entombment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Assoication or the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
