Paul Purvis, 89, of Avon, formerly of Cloverdale, passed away July 23, 2008. He was born August 13, 1918 to the late Leo and Edith (Chamberlain) Purvis in Indianapolis, IN. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He was a meat cutter for 34 years retiring in 1980, having worked many years at Montgomery's Grocery Store in Indianapolis. Paul is survived by two daughters, Carolyn A. (Bill) Ogan, and Donna (Tom) Smith; a son, Paul "Rick" Purvis; 16 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Reba (Short) Purvis, and a son Thomas Purvis. Services will be at 10:30 am Saturday July 26, 2008 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday July 25. Burial will be in Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.
