William J. Counter

William J. Counter, 84, of Plainfield, formerly of Greencastle, passed away March 31, 2014 in Hendricks Regional Health, Danville. He was born December 12, 1929 in Canton, SD to the late Theodore and Susan Counter. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War where he was awarded the Purple Heart. Bill retired from General Motors in 1984 after 30 years on the assembly line. Funeral services will be Thursday, April 3, at 11:00 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call from 10:00 am until service time. Graveside services with military honors will also be Thursday, at 12:15 pm in Forest Hill Cemetery, Greencastle. Survivors include his wife, Mary Counter; son, Rick Kemp; daughters, Susie (Butch) Moore and Geraldine (Phil) Turner; 6 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
