Ruth Joan Gentry

Ruth Joan (McGoldrick) Gentry, 84, of Plainfield, IN. passed away July 14, 2008. She was born on January 12, 1924 in Indianapolis, IN. to the late Manuel and Alma (Johnson) McGoldrick. She was a graduate of Broad Ripple High School and attended Butler University. She and her late husband, R. Norwood Gentry owned the Gentry Funeral Home in Camden, In. from 1952 - 1964. They moved to Plainfield, In. and purchased the current Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home and owned it until 1988. Her memberships include PEO Sisterhood - Chapter AV, Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority, Plainfield Womans Club and the Plainfield United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 17, at 11:00 am. Friends may call on Wednesday, July 16, from 3:00 - 8:00 pm at the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her children; Jody (John) Kaveney of Colorado Springs, CO., Jim Gentry of Los Angeles, CA., Rhea (Ken) Thompson of Scottsdale, AZ and Manuel (Karen) Gentry of Plainfield, IN; grandchildren, Matthew Rhoden, Lauren, Ryan and Erin Gentry.
