Betty A. Lydick, 88, of Plainfield, passed away March 6, 2014. She was born January 20, 1926 to the late Ernest and Mary (Frank) Archer in Terre Haute, IN. She taught Physical Education and Home Ec at Mill Creek School Corp. for 31 years retiring in 1988. She was a member of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association and Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority. She is survived by her son, Dr. Michael E. (Debbie) Lydick; a daughter, Dr. Paula A. (Dr. Larry) Koval; a half-sister, Juanita Puster; 4 grandchildren, Jenny and Jamie Lydick, Julie (Jon) Davis, and Emily Koval; and a great grandson, Owen Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee E. Lydick. Betty was the last surviving charter member of the Hope United Presbyterian Church. Funeral services will be held at the church at 1331 Section St. in Plainfield on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be on Saturday from 9:00 am until service time at 11:00 am. Entombment will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Contributions may be made to the building fund of the church.
