Helen P. Hayes

Helen P. Hayes, 97, of Plainfield, passed away March 7, 2014. She was born May 30, 1916 to the late Michael and Carrie Ellen (Dierdorff) Myers in Brazil, IN. She worked over 20 years in the cafeteria at Van Buren Elementary School retiring in 1988. She was a member of Plainfield Christian Church and the Englewood Order of the Eastern Star. Helen is survived by two daughters, Paula L. Jines and Patty L. (Donald) Kalt; four grandchildren, Tammy Young, Tasha Lerma, Aimee Sanders and Andrew Kalt; and four great grandchildren, Selena and Sierra Lerma, Nicholas Young and Jordan Hodges. She was preceded in death by her husband, James G. Hayes. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm Tuesday March 11, 2014 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Tuesday from 11:00 am until the time of service at 1:00 pm. Entombment will be in Washington Park North Cemetery in Indianapolis.
