Dorothy J Rahm Wittorff 86, passed away Monday, February 3, 2014, surrounded by family, at Wellbrooke of Avon. She resided in Plainfield, Indiana, but had formerly resided in Port Charlotte, Florida. She was born March 11, 1927 in Mooresville, Indiana, to Howard and Augusta Warren. She was preceded in death by her parents and husbands, Vernon Rahm and Dale Wittorff. She was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church. She worked for Wright Patterson Field Command in communications during WWII. She was a volunteer and supporter of the USO. She was a secretary for Public Service of Indiana and retired from Herald Life Insurance Co. She was an avid IU and Colts fan, loved gardening, reading and doing her daily crosswords. She also loved her church family. She was proud to be called a sister, a mom, a grandmother and a great-grandmother. She was fondly referred to as BamDot. She was a marvelous cook and enjoyed gatherings with family and friends. She will be dearly missed by many. She is survived by her children, Kenneth Rahm, Plainfield, IN, Linda Jones (Dr John Jones), Loudon, TN, Robert Rahm (Cindy Rahm), Indianapolis, IN and Terry Rahm, Oakridge, TN. She is survived by her grandson Ryan Warren (Elizabeth) Indianapolis, IN, and three great-grandchildren; Elijah (EB), Claire and George Warren. She also is survived by her siblings JR Warren (Marge), Brownsburg, IN, Connie Farrell (Ivan), Stephenville, TX, and Mildred Hammond, Plainfield, IN. She also is survived by her step children Jon Wittorff of Ocala, FL and Judy Meunièr of Ecuador. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, February 7, 2014 in the Plainfield Christian Church, 800 Dan Jones Road, where friends may call at the church on Friday from 1:30 pm until service time at 3:00 pm. A private entombment will be held on Saturday at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.
