Sarah M. Callahan

Sarah M. Callahan, 85, of Avon, passed away January 12, 2014. She was born October 25, 1928 to the late Carl and Lillie (Siddons) Elmore in Stilesville, IN. She was a floral arranger for Hendricks County Florist and later Avon Florist. She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Avon. Sarah is survived by four sons, Dan (Polly), Doug (Vickie), Don (Hanh) and Derald (Cindy) Callahan; three daughters, Kathy (John) Ditmer, Karen (Chuck) Deford, and Kaye (David) Pitcher; a son-in-law, Kevin Shafer; a sister, Dorothy Hochstetler; 25 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Edward Callahan, a son, David Callahan and a daughter, Kelly Shafer. Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Saturday, January 18, 2014 in the West Bridge Church, 1521 S. County Road 75 W, in Danville. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday January 17 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home in Plainfield. Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery.
