Joan K. Wier

Joan K. Wier, 87, of Avon, passed away January 2, 2014. She was born in Indianapolis, IN to the late William and Anna Kopp. She had been a long time secretary for Sutherland Presbyterian Church and Hope United Presbyterian Church in Plainfield where she was a charter member and elder. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, at 1:00 pm in Hope United Presbyterian Church with visitation from 11:00 am until service time. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward Wier. Her memberships include The Friday Club and Plainfield Womans Club. Joan was also the church choir director and Sunday school teacher. Survivors include her children, Kay (David) Bostrom, Jeff (Peg) Wier and Paula (Brian) Nowling; sisters, Margaret Hardin, Imogene Moore and Berniece Shaffer; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
