Marian B. Brown

Marian B. Brown, 87, of Plainfield, IN. passed away June 9, 2008. She was born April 23, 1921 in Ober, IN. to the late Edward and Anna Armstrong. She graduated from Knox High School and Butler University where she earned her B.S. degree in Education. She retired in 1979 after 18 years as a school teacher at Brentwood Elementary. Prior to that she was a secretary for 18 years at East Grade Elementary. Her memberships incude the Plainfield United Methodist Church for 60 years and the University Womans Club. She was married to the late Myron P. Brown for 54 years. He preceded her in death in 1993. Marian was a very generous lady and beloved by her children and grandchildren. A funeral service will be Thursday, June 12 at 7:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call from 4:00 pm until the time of service. Graveside services will be Friday, June 13 at 2:00 pm E.D.T. in Crown Hill Cemetery, Knox IN. Survivors include 2 sons, Gary E. and Stephen P. Brown; grandchildren, Loree Sumner, Michelle Meyer, Jeanette Brown, Lindsay Speicher, Andrew and Anna Brown; 3 great grandchildren.
