James W. Proctor Jr.

James W. Proctor Jr., 93, of Plainfield, passed away October 18, 2013. He was born March 27, 1920 in Brazil, IN to the late James Sr. and Ethel Proctor. Jim was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran. He worked for Detroit Diesel Allison's in data processing retiring in 1980 after 30 years. His memberships include Plainfield United Methodist Church, Plainfield Lions Club, Plainfield Masonic Lodge #653 and Indianapolis Scottish Rite. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Proctor, brother, Norman Proctor and sister, Ethel Robinson. Funeral services will be Monday, October 21, at 11:00 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, with visitation on Sunday, October 20, from 2:00 - 6:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include his daughters, Nancy (Greg) Grimes, Sally (Larry) Snyder, Sherry (Ted) Thompson and Lynn (Mike) Eklof; grandchildren, Lisa Sankowski, Richard Grimes, Diana Shinde, Jenny Jordan,Whitney, Megan Eklof and Katie Thompson; great grandchildren, Laurel, Aiden, Landon, Adele Sankowski, David, Daniel, Hannah Jordan and Abira, Shahina Shinde. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church or Salvation Army.
