Mary Brown Hobbs, 89, of Plainfield, passed away June, 21, 2013. She was born July, 31, 1923 in Pleasant Hill, LA to the late James Charles and Cleopatria (McNaughton) Brown. The family moved to Greenwood, IN, where she graduated from high school, then attended Butler University. Besides being a homemaker, she worked for L.S. Ayres and Co., Curtis Wright Engineering, Pictorial Publishers and Projected House of Sound. She was a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa Sorority and Plainfield Christian Church. Memorial Services will be Friday, June, 28, at 2:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:00 am until service time. Inurnment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Thomas P. Hobbs; 2 sons, James (Cheryl) Hobbs, Fred (Debbie) Hobbs; brother, Wilder Brown; 7 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hendricks County Meals on Wheels or the church.
