Ramona A. Smiley

Ramona A. Smiley, 81, of Plainfield, passed away June 5, 2013. She was born February 28, 1932 to the late Austin and Helen (Scott) Briles in Plainville, IN. She worked as a dispatcher for Aero Mayflower Transit Co, Indianapolis for 30 years retiring in 1994. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Plainfield. Ramona is survived by two daughters, Tina M. Hand and Tresa A. (Gary) Strakis; two brothers, Norman Briles and Bill Dawson; 4 grandchildren, Joshua (Megan) Hand, Matthew Hand, Andrew and Rebecca Strakis; 2 great grandchildren, Lauren Hand and Spencer Pippen; and Rosie the dog. She was preceded in death by her husband, William I. Smiley, a brother, Gene Dawson and a sister, Nancy Hinkle. Memorial services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 15, 2013 in the Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9201 E. CR 100 N, Avon where friends may call on Saturday from 11:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm.
