Donald (Don) R. Fisher, 85, of Plainfield passed on from this life on May 15, 2013. He was born on June 7, 1927 to the late Nelson and Mattie (Easton) Fisher in Spencer, Indiana. Don was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife of almost 62 years, Natalie (Alexander) Fisher; 2 sons, Gary (Sandra) Fisher, David (Debra) Fisher; 2 daughters, Debbie (Chris) Whitsitt, Diane Whitsitt; and 8 grandchildren, Laura (Jason) Smith, Daniel (Trevaesa) Fisher, Kyle (Katie) Fisher, Mindy Whitsitt, Rebecca Fisher, Ariel (Ryan) Davis, Mark Fisher and Tasha Whitsitt. Don was a US Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He retired from the University of Indianapolis in 1997 after 29 years as a Biology professor and concluded his second career as a real estate professional with Carpenter Realtors in 2012. He was an active member of the Danville Church of Christ and loved being a servant to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Friday, May 17, 2013 in the Hampton-Gentry funeral home, Plainfield, where friends may also call on Thursday, May 16 from 4:00 – 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
