James (Jim) T. Burrows
80, of Indianapolis, went to be the Lord on May 9, 2013. He was born April 15, 1933 to the late Roy and Helen (Riley) Burrows in Chicago, IL. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for International Harvester for 52 years, retiring as an Accounting Manager in 2003. Jim was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife of 57 years, Diane (Godsey) Burrows and his daughters, Leisa (Mike) English and Tanya (Cody) Settles; 2 brothers Dick Burrows and Jack Burrows; a sister Patsy Barnhart; 5 grandchildren Jennifer (Steve) Haag, Joseph English, Samantha Settles, Nick English, and Molly English; 3 great-grandchildren Keirstin Piatt, Mason Piatt and Alexi Lynn. He was an active member and deacon at Eagledale Baptist Church for many years until his health failed. He loved playing golf, watching IU and Pacer basketball, and Colts football games. He enjoyed family gatherings and was always ready to help anyone in need. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, May 14, 2013 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may also call on Monday, May 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
