Thomas Allen Crowe

November 9, 1951 — April 22, 2013

Thomas Allen Crowe, 61, lost his courageous battle against cancer on April 22, 2013. He was born Nov. 9, 1951 to Harold John Crowe Jr. and Mary Louise Dorsey Crowe in Indianapolis. He retired from Ameritech after more than 30 yrs. of service in 1999. He is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Melanie Boardman Crowe, 2 sons, Benjamin (Espie) Crowe of Avon, IN., and Clint (Elizabeth) Crowe in New South Wales, Australia. He was “Papaw” to Ethan, Eva, Edward, and Charlotte (Charlie) Crowe, and a new baby coming for Clint & Liz. His siblings are Harold John Crowe lll (June), James Crowe (deceased), Kate Gartner (Steve), Kevin Crowe, and Christopher (Christine) Crowe. He was Uncle Tom to several nieces and 1 nephew. Tom loved fishing and woodworking and spending time with his family…especially his grandkids. They were the joy in his life and every Sunday was “Papaw” day. Thanks Ben & Espie. He also loved seeing his little “Charlie girl” on Skype in Australia. Thanks Clint & Liz. Tom was a great Husband, Father, Brother, Uncle, Friend, and Papaw and will always be in our hearts. He fought a hard fight but healing wasn’t to be. Thanks to all the medical people at St. Vincent Heart Hospital, Hendricks Regional Health ER and Medical Floor, Cancer Center, and Vista Care Hospice who took care of him and let him stay here with his family a little longer. Thanks to special friends, Allen & Wanda Lady, Jack & Darla Greene, and neighbors Dave & Jeanne Polson. Per Tom’s request, there was no funeral service. He requested a Celebration Gathering and it will be held at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds Sunday, August 25th from 2-7 pm. Please join us in remembering this wonderful and courageous man
