Herschel W. Marshall

Herschel W. Marshall, 93, of Plainfield, passed away April 3, 2013. He was born December 13, 1919 in Payson, IL to the late Wernie and Lilia (Rueter) Marshall. He was a WWII Army Air Corp veteran. Herschel retired in 1974 as an air traffic controller. He was a member of Plainfield BPOE # 2186, American Legion and was a 50 plus year member of Plainfield Masonic Lodge #653. Herschel was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia J. (Fuller) Marshall and sisters Bernice Hollembeak and Arvilla Turner. Funeral services will be Friday, April 12, at 10:30 a.m. in Plainfield United Methodist Church of which he was a member. Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Survivors include daughters, Cynthia A. (Gordon) Elliott and Jane R. Coe; son, Albert W. (Jennifer) Marshall; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
