"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." William L. Johnson, 78, of Danville, IN passed away in his home surrounded by his family. He was born August 26, 1929 to the late Nazareth and Ruby Johnston in Evansville, IN. He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou (Woods) Johnson and brother, Eugene Earl Johnston. Surviving family members include his devoted and beloved wife, Lucille D. (Barr) Johnson; four sons and five daughters, Mike (Deedy) Johnson, Teri Bruce, Rosie (John) Kirby, Kimber (Greg) Herald, Vicki (Tim) Franklin, Mark (Cheryl Johnson, Suzanne Shotts, Robin D. Thompson and Jonathan Thompson; twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren; sister, Juanita Robinson Arhelger; brothers, Donald (Elsea) Johnson, and Jerry (Joyce) Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. William was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was owner of Johnson Paint & Wallpaper Center in Mooresville from 1960-1980. He also owned Belles & Beaus Daycare Center in Mooresville for five years until 1992. Funeral services will be at 12:00 Noon, Friday March 21, 2008 at the First Baptist Church of Danville at 1521 S. County Road 75W (Mackey Road) in Danville, where friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday March 20. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
