Dorothy L. Jones

Dorothy L. Jones, 79, of Plainfield, passed away February 16, 2013 in her home. She was born August 17, 1933 in Mitchell, IN to the late Lester and Mary (Cooper) Sheeks. She was a 1950 graduate of Mitchell High School. Dorothy received her Bachelors Degree in Art Education from Indiana University in 1954 and her Masters in Art Education from IUPUI in 1982. She was an elementary school teacher in Greencastle and Mitchell, IN. She also taught in Solano Beach and Samon, in Lemoore, CA. She retired from Northwood Elementary School in Mooresville after 21 years. Dorothy was a member of Plainfield United Methodist Church, where a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 20, at 1:00 pm. Friends may call from 12:00 pm (Noon) until service time. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold L. Jones and sister, Janet K. Greene. Survivors include her sons, Jeff (Cathy), Jay and Robert Jones; daughter, Holly (Mike) Richardson; brother, William L.(Pauline) Sheeks; sister, Rosemary McCart; 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
