Dorothy E. Orszula, 90, of Lombard, IL passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove, IL. She was born June 2, 1922 to the late Oral Ray and Edna (Kellum) Spitler in Chicago, IL. She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from the University of Illinois and her Master's degree in Reading Education from Northern Illinois University. She was active in the American Auxiliary of University Women (AAUW) and the Lombard Service League. She was a long-time teacher of elementary and middle school children. She taught 4th grade for many years at Green Valley Elementary School in Lombard, IL. She also taught 7th and 8th graders focused reading programs at Roselle Middle School in Roselle, IL. Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Carol (David) Watanabe of Lincolnshire, IL; two grandchildren, Steven and Kayla Watanabe; a brother, Robert Spitler; and many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Norbert Orszula. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Saturday February 2, 2013 in the Fairfield Friends Meeting, 10441 E. CR 700 S in Camby, IN. Burial will follow in Fairfield Friends Cemetery.
