Dorothy L. Muncie

“….a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised; honor her for all that her hands have done…” (Proverbs 31) Dorothy (Beckner) Muncie, 90,of Avon, IN, departed this earth January 22 to meet her Savior face to face. She was born in Chrisman, IL on February 26, 1922 to Clyde and Fleta Beckner. She was preceded in death by twin sisters Doris and Deloris. She is survived by a daughter Donna (William) Bennett; grandson Franklin (Sherie) Bennett, great-grandsons Tyler, Cory, Jeremy; granddaughter Kelli (Brian) Gatewood, great-grandsons Cody, William, great-granddaughter, Kaylee. Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 60 years Frank. She retired from General Motors Corporation where she was employed as a secretary for 23 years. She and husband Frank spent many hours serving others through their love for music and taking food to shut-ins. Dorothy was a member of First Baptist Church in Plainfield, IN. Visitation will be at First Baptist Church, 1210 Stafford Road, Plainfield, IN on Saturday, January 26 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A celebration of life honoring Dorothy will also be held at the church at 1:00 following visitation. Entombment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield, IN.
