Jesse Marion Price, 83, of Danville, IN passed away December 13, 2012. He was born August 5, 1929 in Avon, IN to the late Fred and Hazel (Morris) Price. Jesse married Peggy Pratt of Plainfield, IN on August 6, 1955. He ran the family farm for many years and for over 40 years he and his wife, Peggy owned and operated Stilesville Liquor, in Stilesville, IN. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf and cards, following all the NASCAR races, rooting for the colts and Indiana University basketball, putting up an ever-expanding annual Christmas lights display, going to Canada to camp and fish, gardening and spending time with his family. Jesse was known and loved by his family and friends for his focused determination, solid work ethic, strong opinions AND caring heart, all characteristics that positively influenced his children to their success. His greatest joy was being a part of his children's lives and rooting on their accomplishments. His large presence, big heart and involvement in his families' lives will be missed. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert, John, Frank, William, James, Paul, Glenn Price and Mary Catherine Parsons. Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 19, at 10:30 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Tuesday, December 18, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Stilesville Cemetery. Survivors include his wife, Peggy Price; children, Stephen D. and Jan Dowden Price, of Indianapolis, IN; Rhonda K. and Thomas Burke, of Carmel, IN; Jeffrey M. and Suzie Gensamer Price, of Atlanta, GA.; Michelle L. and Dave Draschil, of Denver, CO; sisters, Marjorie Coy, Irma Walton and June Rosemeyer; grandchildren, Cassie, Jessica and Allie Price of Indianapolis, IN.
