Donald T. Billups

Donald T. Billups, 83, of Plainfield, passed away September 11, 2012 in Indiana University West Hospital in Avon, IN. He was born January 3, 1929 in Portsmouth, OH to the late David and Mabel Billups. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. Don was a graduate of the Indiana School of Mortuary Science. He worked for Flanner and Buchanan Decatur Township Mortuary and Conkle Funeral Home. His memberships include Valley Mills Christian Church, West Newton Masonic Lodge # 707, Indianapolis Scottish Rite and Murat Shrine. Don was the past president of the Marion County Funeral Directors Association, past District Director of IDFA, past Secretary Southside Optimist Club and past Vice-President Decatur Township Lions Club. He was also on the Directors Staff of the Murat Shrine, past Treasurer and Charter Member of the Decatur Township Business Association and past Board Member of the Home Place. Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 12, at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:00 am until service time. Masonic rites will be at 12:30 pm. Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Billups; brothers, Harold (Skip) and Gary Billups.
