Roy G. Duffer, 69, of Avon, IN, passed away August 1, 2012. He was born November 1, 1942 to the late Reggie and Frankie (Rollin) Duffer in Tennessee. He was a US Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a truck driver for over 40 years, last working for Ryder Trucking until 2010. He is survived by his wife, Sharon A. (Wellington) Duffer; two sons, Brad G. (Ruth), and Christopher (Kathy) Duffer; a daughter, Dawn M. Duffer; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, Nicholas, Abby, Mark, Sarah, Annie, Christine, Adam, David, and Lindsey; 3 great grandchildren, Elijah, Gracie and Ricky; and a brother, Bobby Duffy. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Norva Hoskins and Elsie D. Duffer. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, August 7, 2012 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Monday, August 6 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Planifield. Contributions may be made to the IU West Cancer Center.
