Herbert C. Dieckman

Herbert C. Dieckman, 83, of Plainfield, passed away July 17, 2012. He was born October 13, 1928 to the late Clarence and Frieda Dieckman in Batesville, IN. He was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He received his associates degree at Cal-Aero Technical Institute in California. He retired in 1988 as Director of Aircraft Maintenance after 37 years with AAR (American Airlines--formerly Combs-Gates). He was a member of Plainfield United Methodist Church and the Plainfield Elks #2186. Herbert is survived by his wife, Elaine Dieckman; a daughter, Donna K. Dieckman; a brother, Robert C. Dieckman; two grandchildren, John and Lauren Church; and two nephews, Mark & Dane Dieckman. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Church. Funeral services will be at the Chapel at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield at 11:00 am Friday, July 20, 2012. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday, July 19 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
