Duvern Shake

Duvern Shake, 85, of Plainfield, passed away July 11, 2012. He was born March 1, 1927 to the late Otis and Adide Rose (Williams) Shake in Oden, IN. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He worked for Culligan Water Conditioning as a plumber for 12 years retiring in 1980. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion. Duvern is survived by his wife, Sylvia G. (Roy) Phipps Shake; a son, Terry D. (Mona) Shake; a daughter, Gina C. (Steve) Gibbs; a step-daughter, Phyllis E. Barnes; 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty L. Shake and a son, Darrin Wayne Shake. Graveside services with military honors will be at 11:00 am Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, July 13 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield.
