Bernard Trent, 85, of Plainfield, passed away June 6, 2012. He was born November 7, 1926 to the late William and Weyburn (Dooley) Trent in Indianpolis, IN. Bernard was a 1944 graduate of Avon High School. He was a US Army veteran of WWII. He started his career in 1943 unloading box cars at A&P Grocery retiring after 41 years as warehouse superintendent in 1984. He was also former co-owner of Trent Electric with his son, Bill, retiring in 2000. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Mary Ellen (Wright) Trent; 3 sons, Steven E.(Bonnie), Robert A., and William E. Trent; 2 daughters, Shirley A. and Kathy M. Trent; brothers, Wendell (Joyce), Noble (Lois Jean), Ronald (Jean) and Bruce (Virginia) Trent; sister, Barbara (Bill) Furman; 6 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melynda Trent, son, Brad Trent, granddaughter, Elizabeth Trent and brother, Kenneth Trent. He was a member of the Plainfield Christian Church, 800 Dan Jones Road, where services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 9, 2012. Visitation will also be at the church on Friday, June 8, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church. Burial, Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
