Roy Cordray, 89, of Avon, passed away May 5, 2012. He was born August 7, 1922 to the late Roy and Lydia Margery Cordray in Mooresville, IN. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He worked as a tool and die maker for Hamblen Gage Co for 16 years and later as a project manager for R.P. Milhous Co for 7 years retiring in 1985. He was a member of the Plainfield Friends Meeting. Roy is survived by his wife, Shirley A. (Richardson) Cordray; a son, Bruce D. (Dawn) Cordray; two daughters, Pam J. (Bill) Smith, and Valerie A. (Robert) Cardenas; 5 grandchildren, Rebecca and Douglas Cordray, Ashley LaGasse and Brandon and Elizabeth Cardenas; and a great granddaughter, Mirra LaGasse. He was preceded in death by five sisters and one brother. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Tuesday, May 8, 2012 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Monday May 7 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.
