Joyce Miller Kinsey,72, of Estill Springs, TN, formerly of Bridgeport, IN, arrived in Heaven safe in the arms of Jesus on April 20, 2012. She was born February 24, 1940 in Bridgeport, IN. Joyce is survived by her husband, Jim of 54 years; two sons, Russ and David (Blythe) Kinsey; three grandchildren; brother, Norman (Pat) Miller; and a sister, Judy (Ralph) Cook. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Dale; her parents, Henry and Alice Miller; and a brother Ted Miller. As a young girl, Joyce accompanied her father to the Boys School in Plainfield where he was a Sunday School teacher, and to Indianapolis where her father was a street-corner preacher. While at Ben Davis High School, Joyce founded and was President of the Youth For Christ Club, a member of the marching band, concert choir and the Madrigal Singers. Joyce was also guest vocalist on the Harlan Brothers Radio Show and at churches in the area. She was a published poet. While living in West Palm Beach, FL Joyce was active as a Sunday School teacher, vocalist, co-founder of the Christian Women's Club, conference speaker, ministry to migrant workers and host for Child Evangelism meetings. Along with her husbnd, Joyce led Bible study groups in her home. Her culinary skills were enhanced by her collection of 300+ cookbooks. Joyce hosted many church dinner parties and also prepared food for Palm Beach clientele. While living in the Tullahoma, TN area, Joyce sold baked goods at the Farmers Market at Trinity Lutheran Church parking lot. She also was a conference speaker, taught Sunday School, hosted and taught a Child Evangelism group in her home plus hosted and taught a young people's Bible Study group. Joyce was a beautiful and talented woman with a magnetic personality. Funeral services will be at 11:30 am Saturday April 28, 2012 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, IN, where friends may call on Saturday one hour prior to services. Burial will be at Bridgeport Friends Cemetery. Dr. Jim Hodge, pastor of the Manchester Church of the Nazarene will officiate.
