Lowell Allen Russell

Allen Russell, 73, of Clayton, passed away April 18, 2012. He was born October 18, 1938 to the late Lowell and Jessie (Wilson) Russell in Putnam County, IN. He is survived by his wife, Beverly J. (Eubank) Russell; son, Gary L. Russell; daughter, Vicki L. Russell Crabb; brothers, Stewart and Robert Russell; sister, Kathy South; granddaughter, Rhianna Crabb; and 2 great grandchildren, Ashlynn Girton and Rylan Crabb. He was preceded in death by a brother, Barney Russell and a sister June Mendenhall. A life-long Hendricks County farmer; Allen was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He supported his family by working the night shift at GM for 31 years while farming the land that he loved so much. He was probably happiest mowing grass and cutting trees. He helped so many people throughout his life; his depature is a great loss for his family and the community. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am Monday, April 23, 2012 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Sunday, April 22 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm. Burial, Clayton Cemetery.
