Meredith Geneva (Mendenhall) Brock

April 25, 1919 — March 25, 2012

Meredith Geneva (Mendenhall) Brock, 92, of Plainfield, went joyously home to be with her Lord on March 25, 2012. She was born April 25, 1919 in North Salem, IN. She was the third of six children of Harrison and Mabel Ferguson. Her siblings, Marjorie Rogers, Helen Trent, Howard Wendell and Milton Ferguson preceded her in death. On July 1, 1939 she married Walter "Everett" Mendenhall, and together they had two sons. The oldest, Harrison Albert preceded her in death at the age of 21. After being widowed by "Everett" she later married Norman Taylor and Charlie Brock. Meredith lived in Hendricks County most of her life. She was one of the original switchboard operators for the Hazelwood Telephone Exchange. Meredith was employed by J.C. Penny and retired from the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles in 1985. She was an active member of Cartersburg Community Church to which contributions may be made. She recently began attending First Baptist Church of Plainfield. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School and had many special friends whom she loved to share a HUG with. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 28, at 11:00 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Tuesday, March 27, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Fairfield Friends Cemetery. Survivors include a son, Michael L. (Glenda) Mendenhall; brother, Wayne (Mary Lou) Ferguson; grandchildren, Michael L. Mendenhall II and Jessica Mendenhall; and the light of her life, great grandson,Terrence Little Jr; many nieces and nephews.
