Jack L. Boswell, 76, of Reelsville, formerly of Avon, entered into the gates of Heaven on December 30, 2011. He was born February 19, 1935 in Pittsboro, IN to Walter and Hazel Moeller Boswell. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Wanda, son Mark (Gina) Boswell, adopted daughter Annette Steedman, two granddaughters, Sarah (Matt) Buell and Zoe Elizabeth Boswell and grandson Noah Boswell. Also surviving are brothers Tom Boswell of Greencastle, Larry (Shelby) Boswell, Tuscon, AZ. and sisters Sue Martin, Fillmore and Jane Schell, Cayuga. Jack graduated from Pittsboro High School in 1953 and served in the US Army from 1956-8. He retired from the Diamond Chain Co. in 1997 following 43 years of service, having worked for many years in the experimental/R&D assembly area. To many, Jack was most remembered for his musical talents and his cross-handed style of piano playing. He played throughout the decades of the 60's, 70's and 80's in many of the Indy-area's finest nightclubs with his country music band, The Country Starliters. His country music career affored him the opportunity to have played with 18 artists who have been inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in Nashville. In 1985 he and his band refocused their musical talents toward their own unique brand of country gospel music, having played within hundreds of churches throughout Central Indiana. He was a member of the Benwood-Mt. Lebanon church in Brazil. He will be greatly loved and missed by all whoever met him. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 3, 2012 in the Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, Plainfield, where friends may call on Monday January 2 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Burial, Brownsburg Cemetery.
