Phillip A. Stout, age 73 of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, December 16, 2011. He was born June 3. 1938 in Wabash, IN to P. Kenneth and Margaret (Brubaker) Stout. He grew up in the Wabash area and lived his adult life in Plainfield and Indianapolis, IN.
He is survived by his two sisters Carol (Lonnie) Steele of Valparaiso, IN and Sharon (Richard) Lambert of Wooster Ohio; four nieces: Shannon (Marc) Rueffer of Indianapolis; Steffany Steele of Seattle, WA; Tina Lambert of Tulsa, OK; Lisa (Sean) Kaiser of Dayton, OH; Uncle, Lester Stout of Peru, IN; aunts: Joanna Frieders, of Pendleton, IN; Edith Brubaker of St. Petersburg, FL; Phoebe Thrush of Auburn, WA; one great neice, three great nephews and many cousins.
Phil was graduated from Wabash High School in 1956. He received a B. S. degree from Ashland University and a M.S. degree from Indiana University. He was an elementary school teacher teaching in Indiana schools as well as an American School in Kuwait. He was an avid walker setting a 2,000 mile walking record at the Indianapolis Raceway Track, he was an avid sports fan of IU and the Colts. He was interested in US and world historical events. He was a member of the College Corner First Brethern Church growing up and attended the Plainfield Christian Church in later life.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 23, 2011 at 12:00 pm with a memorial service at 1:00 pm at the McDonald Funeral Home, 231 Falls Ave., Wabash, IN. Interment will follow at the Ogan Section of the Mississinawa Cemetery, Wabash,
