Mildred V. Salsman

Mildred V. Salsman, 96, of Plainfield, passed away December 13, 2011. She was born December 4, 1915 in Hendricks County, IN to the late Melvin and Florence Gibbs. She taught 1st grade at Plainfield and Avon for over 40 years. Mildred was the oldest living member of Plainfield United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Oliver T. Salsman and siblings, George, Harold and Geraldine Gibbs. Funeral services will be Friday, December 16, at 11:00 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Thursday, December 15, from 5:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield. Survivors include nieces, Marcia (Steven) Gustafson, Debbie (Randy) Smith and Ann (O) Hamilton; several great nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association.
