Timothy James Downing

Timothy James Downing, 32, passed on to Christ, whom he so adored and worshiped, on November 24, 2011. Tim was born to Paul and Debra (Urshel) Downing on November 16, 1979 in San Antonio,TX. Tim found Christ and was baptized in 2010. He was a 1998 graduate of Avon High School and member of Mooresville Free Methodist Church. Tim passed unexpectedly after several years of failing health, during which he struggled with much pain and mental anguish. We are comforted in knowing you will find the peace in heaven that eluded you on earth. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 29, at 1:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul E. Downing Jr., grandparents, Dorothy Urshel, Thomas Downing and Mary Sheets. Besides his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Katelynn Marie Downing, age 6, to whom he was a most devoted and loving father; sister, Abby Tutorow; grandfather, Jake Urshel.
