Ruth L. Zimmerer

Ruth L. Zimmerer, 87, of Plainfield, passed away November 20, 2011 in Grandview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Martinsville. She was born April 27, 1924 in Staunton, IL to the late Otto and Erna Brackman. Ruth was baptized on May 18, 1924 in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and also graduated from their high school in 1942. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing and gardening. Ruth was a charter member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church in Plainfield. She had been an active member in her current church, Our Shepherd Lutheran Church ( 9201 E. C. R. 100 N, Avon), where a funeral service will be Saturday, November 26, at 10:00 am. Friends may call on Friday, November 25, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Zimmerer, whom she married on June 27, 1945. Survivors include a son, Dennis (Cindy)Zimmerer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the church.
