Evelyn Leola Martindale, born August 17, 1916 passed away November 15, 2011, at age 95. Evelyn was preceded in death by husband, Ralph Martindale; parents, Lillie and Ray Palmer; brothers, Wayne, Keith and Earl Palmer; sisters, Muriel Palmer and Helen Mackey; daughter-in-law, Patricia Martindale. Survivors include daughter, Marilyn Ramsey (Jim); son, Gary Martindale; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins, all of whom she loved dearly. Evelyn graduated from Worthington-Jefferson High School in 1934. Widowed at age 33, she worked for almost 30 years, retiring from Columbia Records in Terre Haute as group leader in quality control. Following retirement she moved to Indianapolis. A proud Baptist all her life, Evelyn attended American Baptist churches in Worthington, Terre Haute and Indianapolis. Her favorite past times were reading and playing games with family and friends. An inspiration for all, she will long be remembered for her loving, generous spirit. The family extends warm thanks to the special caretakers on the north unit of Plainfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility where she lived for the past 5 months. The family will receive visitors at 10:00 am, Saturday, November 19 at Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 am. Graveside services will be at 3:00 pm in Worthington (Indiana) Cemetery.
