Robert James Hickam

Robert James Hickam, 69, of Plainfield, passed away October 17, 2011. He was born September 27, 1942 in Benham, VA to Sylvester and Rittie Edell Hickam. He was the owner of R & H Tire in Plainfield since 1986. Funeral services will be Friday, October 21, at 11:00 am in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Thursday, October 20, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, Sylvester Hickam; wife, Martha Faye Hickam; step sons, Lilburn Pullon and Roger Ping. Survivors include his wife, Linda Hickam; mother, Rittie Edell Hickam; step sons, Robby, Bobby, Randal Ping, Robert and Samuel Baker; step daughters, Sandy Ping, LaDonna Tuttle, Betty Benson, Rebecca Diaz and Suzanne Shipley; sisters, Mary Ann Carver and Betty Hickam; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
