Joseph (Marvin) Buchanan

Joseph (Marvin) Buchanan, 80, of Plainfield, passed away October 9, 2011 in I.U. West Hospital. He was born June 8, 1931 in Crossnor, N.C. to the late Luther and Alta Buchanan. Marvin was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He retired an a vice president at Anthem B/C B/S in 1988 after 33 years. His hobby was woodworking and he also enjoyed riding bicycles with his grandchildren His memberships include Plainfield United Methodist Church, Plainfield Masonic Lodge # 653 of which he was Past Master and King Solomon Past Master Association. Funeral services will be Friday, October 14, at 2:00 pm in Hampton-Gentry Funeral Home, where friends may call on Thursday, October 13, from 4:00 - 8:00 pm. Burial with military honors will follow at Clayton Cemetery. Marvin was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Glenda Epple and Jennie Walker. Survivors include his wife, Alice Buchanan; sons, Jeff (Sharie) Buchanan, Brad and girl friend (Karla Sego) Buchanan; brothers, Bennie and Cramer Buchanan; sisters, Emma Bailey and Diana Crouch; grandchildren, Kristina, Bradley Jr., Clarie and Kieran Buchanan.
