Sibbie C. Abney

Sibbie C. Abney 82, of Plainfield, IN, went to be with our Lord on September 28, 2011. He was born March 15, 1929 to the late Willie C. and Laura Abney of Clayton, IN. Sibbie was a Korean War veteran. He retired in 1987 after 40 years of service from Chevrolet Truck & Bus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Katy Jean Johnston of Plainfield, IN. and his brother, James A. Abney of Oscoda MI. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Janice L. Abney; five children, Deborah A. Colclazier, Lanny D. Abney, Sandra G. Abney, Susan E. Abney, Denise L. Bailey(David); sister, Lois Helton of Spencer, IN.; four grandchildren and three great -grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Hampton Gentry Funeral Home on Monday, October 3, at 1:00 pm, with visitation from 11:00 am until time of service. Burial with military honors will follow at Clayton Cemetery.
